Welcome!

I'm a Texas girl. A wife. A mother. A traveler. A creative soul.

After having my son a couple of years ago, I left my sales career to be a stay-at-home mom. I love being a mother, but I wanted to harness my creativity and see what I could do while still being able to spend time with my son and my husband. With that desire in mind, I started Stella Marie Studio. I wanted to share my love of crafting and creating with everyone!

Now -- as for the name Stella Marie -- this is very near and dear to my heart. These two names are from my grandmothers whom I never was able to know. I thought their names together sounded so perfect; in fact, if God ever blesses me with a little girl, that will be her name. In the meantime, my grandmothers will share in my venture as an entrepreneur.

As the studio grows, you'll see hand-crafted products that include seasonal wreaths, home decor, and much, much more!

What a week!

Stella Marie Studio is a new professional adventure for me. We started ramping up business in late October, and let me just say -- what a grueling couple of weeks!

Obviously, the Christmas season brings out the decorator in many. I've been super excited and touched by the many people who have purchased and proudly displayed my creations. It means the world to me.

Recently, a woman I met at a Dripping Springs craft show asked if I could help spruce up a deco-mesh wreath she owned. I was more than happy to help! However, a few weeks passed and I didn't hear from her. I assumed that maybe she decided against it and that was that.

It was a wonderful surprise when I received a text from her this past week that asked me to help her wreath. She wanted it to have more of a Christian theme and wanted some new colors infused in it. I was happy to oblige. So we met, I took her wreath, and started designing in my head.

So here's where we started. This is a wreath that she purchased from a large craft store and to be honest, it's not bad. But I do understand why she wanted to change a few things here and there. And I couldn't have been more flattered that she asked me to do it.

I knew I wanted to get the color gold in there, just wasn't sure how I would go about it or if it would even look good. But you have to start somewhere, right?

So I busted out my gold deco mesh and started weaving.

So I put one round of gold deco mesh in the wreath, but it still wasn't right. So I added another. Still not right. I asked my husband for guidance and he just reiterated what I already knew -- it wasn't right.

So I started looking though my craft supplies. I knew something would hit me.

Eureka! As I looked in my ribbon drawer, I found her perfect ribbon to provide the pop I was looking for. Add a sparkly gold cross and I knew it would be great.

Ornaments would be the extra something to tie it all together. I secured all the pieces and felt I was done.

I couldn't have been more pleased!

Really happy with how it turned out and my client was so excited! She told me she thought it was just beautiful and ranted and raved. JUST what I wanted to hear. So glad I could help her!

Here at Stella Marie Studio, we can make the tweaks that give your home decor that extra something.

Love making pretty things!

XO

Holly
